Townend Camera Club has been established in Dreghorn, North Ayrshire for over 30 years. In that time it has grown in stature and size to the club that is flourishing today.
We are always keen to promote our own photography, so we are always willing to teach those who wish to learn more about different areas of the subject.
To keep our club membership pulsating with ideas and allow them to explore their own style, we regularly hold classes in the fundamental areas of photography.
Digital photography has long been integrated into our way of working, many of our
members prefer to use this medium and to facilitate this we have our own digital
suite comprising of one of the latest multi-

Competitive spirit is never far away from the club’s membership, it is through striving to win that incites us to produce better images. The members have an array of interests and talents, so there is always something new to learn and to try. Hints and tips and advice are traded in a helpful atmosphere. Our club is affiliated to the Ayrshire Photographic Federation as well as the Scottish Photographic Federation. Through these affiliations we compete in national competitions.
Our membership is varied in its abilities. From raw beginners to seasoned campaigners to those who are taking photography at college and university.
New people to the club are always welcome, if you arrive in plenty of time before the nights activities start at 7:30pm we will quite happily show you around the facilities and introduce you to some of our current members, including our office bearers. There is no obligation to join there and then, but If you do enjoy our club, we will, after a few visits, ask you to become a member. This will enable you to participate in all our wide range of activities.
Don’t worry if your under 16, unemployed or a senior citizen as we have concessionary rates. Membership is paid by annual subscription, which is set at the Annual General Meeting. It can also be paid by instalments.
Membership allows you to use the club facilities, the computer suite and the studio. It will also allow you to come on club trips as well.
The Club and its facilities are there for our members to get the most from their photography. So go for it!
