Competitions
Townend Camera Club is involved in numerous competitions for the membership to enter and compete in. These include, for example the League, the Ayrshire Federation, External Club Battles with local and not so local clubs. At the moment these include Cumnock, Beith and far, far away Loreburn in Dumfries.

As the club is affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (P.A.G.B), we enter the Scottish Photographic Federation and the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain competitions too.

Within the club we also have a few independent competitions, These are the Bill Corbett Memorial Shield for landscapes, The Ernie Cave Memorial for portraiture and the Sports Trophy.

Each one of these competitions has its own particular requirements in terms of an entry. You will find that all clubs have standard print sizes, standard slide sizes and digital format with specific requirements.

At the end of the year we have the President’s Quaich, where members can present their best work of the year for further judging and possible award.

One other awarded by the committee, at the end of the year the member whilst presenting images and winning competitions, has shown an outstanding in their efforts will be awarded with the accolade of the Most Improved Photographer.
